Thatcher Shultz Is Pioneering The Future Of NYC Nightlife
It might be inaccurate to call Thatcher Shultz the king of New York City nightlife. Sure, the clean-shaven, Maine native owns six bars, clubs, and restaurants in the city, but, for one, he doesn’t like the term. And, unlike his predecessors and contemporaries in the nightlife industry, he isn’t as focused on building an empire of lavish, bottle-service venues as he is curating culture through beautiful spaces.
Those in the know will instantly recognize the hallmarks of Shultz’s bars and clubs: impeccably-dressed crowds, on-trend decor (often with plants and neon signs), and thoughtful food and drink. “My friends just loosely refer to them as Thatcher venues,” he jokes, adding, “It’s just a conglomerate of fun venues with a similar vibe and feel—I wanted to create spaces my friends would want to hang out.”
